Illinois Sustainable Production Advisory
Sustainable production requirements, made operational.
Atlas Green Advisory helps Illinois productions understand, plan for, document and pursue applicable sustainability requirements.
The earlier planning starts, the easier documentation is to keep organized.
Illustrative example only — not based on a real production or client data.
Vendor status: Atlas Green Advisory is developing its qualifications and operating model and does not claim current IFO/DCEO approval.
Outcome boundary: IFO determines certification; tax-credit eligibility and claims involve the applicant, IFO and qualified professional advisors. No outcome is guaranteed.
The Illinois Opportunity
A real incentive, with real requirements
Illinois has added a sustainability-linked credit to its film production tax credit program. Here is what current official materials say about it.
Illinois offers an additional 5% credit for productions meeting IFO/DCEO sustainability certification requirements.
Eligibility depends on meeting the State’s underlying tax-credit and certification requirements.
Current IFO materials require a qualified/certified third-party sustainability vendor for the published uplift process.
Program requirements can change; the details above reflect currently published guidance from the Illinois Film Office.
Current official procedures require the sustainability package within 30 days after production wrap.
Exact deadlines can vary by application period; we confirm the specific date that applies to your production.

The hard part usually isn't the sustainability work
It's proving it happened, in a form that holds up to review.
Sustainability planning often has to compete with prep, budgeting, and staffing for attention.
Receipts, logs, and vendor records end up spread across emails, drives, and department folders.
Without a single point of accountability, sustainability actions and their proof can fall through the cracks.
Current procedures call for a complete package within 30 days of wrap, per official IFO materials.
